Asian American and Pacific Islander communities sustain our histories, cultures, joy and power all year long. Our work toward collective freedom continues in solidarity. As Grace Lee Boggs said, “The time has come for us to reimagine everything...It’s up to us to reimagine the alternatives and not just protest against them and expect them to do better.”

Resistance is our Heritage is a campaign created and supported by the Asian American Leaders Table, a network of local and national Asian American organizations that convened in the wake of the pandemic a year ago to address the rise in anti-Asian racism and violence.
We recognize that Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month creates an illusion of a monolithic identity that oftentimes erases the narratives within Pacific Islander communities and distinct communities in the Asian diaspora. We are committed to uplifting stories that do not conflate our communities’ histories and struggles, while building genuine solidarity in pursuit of liberation for all.
